Terms of Service

Effective date: to be set (draft)

These Terms govern your use of Drawbridge, operated by DrawBridge ("Drawbridge," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Questions: support@example.com.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. The service is offered for use in the United States.

2. What Drawbridge does

Drawbridge helps families reduce phone and text scams reaching an aging parent. Calls from numbers not saved in the parent's phone are answered first by an automated screener; suspected scam texts are filtered; and text or images can be submitted for an informational "Check This For Me" verdict. A Guardian gets a dashboard of screened and blocked activity. The parent keeps their existing phone, number, and carrier.

3. Your responsibilities and required consent

  • Authority and consent. If you set up protection for another person's line (the "Parent"), you represent that you have the authority and the Parent's informed consent to route, screen, and record their unknown calls and to handle the resulting data as described in the Privacy Policy.
  • Call recording laws. Screened calls are recorded after a spoken disclosure. Recording and call-handling laws vary by state and country. You are responsible for ensuring that enabling screening on the Parent's line complies with the laws applicable to you and the Parent.
  • Account security. Keep your account information accurate and your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
  • Carrier setup. The service relies on carrier call-forwarding and device settings you enable during onboarding. If those settings are removed or changed, protection may stop working.

4. Billing

Pricing is per protected line: $14.99/month for the first line and $9.99/month for each additional line, up to five lines. Subscriptions include a 7-day free trial and then renew automatically each period until canceled. You authorize us and our payment processor (Stripe) to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. You can cancel anytime in the account portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Fees may change on prospective notice. Refunds follow our then-current refund practice and any money-back window offered at signup.

5. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the service, including: using it without the required consent; attempting to defeat, probe, or disrupt its security; reselling or reverse engineering it; using it to harass others; or using it for any unlawful purpose.

6. Important limitations — please read

Drawbridge is a best-effort screening aid, not a guarantee.

  • No guarantee of accuracy. Screening and scam detection use automated AI and are imperfect. The service may let a scam through or misclassify or block a legitimate call or message. Verdicts, including "Check This For Me" results, are informational only and are not legal, financial, medical, or security advice.
  • Not an emergency service. Drawbridge does not handle 911 or emergency communications and must not be relied on for them.
  • Dependence on third parties and settings. The service depends on carriers, device settings, and third-party providers outside our control. Calls may be delayed, missed, or not screened due to carrier behavior, network issues, outages, or configuration changes. When screening cannot run, the system is designed to fall back to taking a message rather than connect an unknown caller unscreened — but availability is not guaranteed.
  • You remain responsible for your and the Parent's own vigilance and financial decisions. Drawbridge does not move money and cannot reverse a scam that succeeds.

7. Intellectual property

We own the service and its content (excluding your data and third-party content) and grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it per these Terms. You retain rights to the content you submit and grant us a license to process it to provide and improve the service as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE OR WILL DETECT OR PREVENT ANY PARTICULAR SCAM. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some may not apply to you.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DRAWBRIDGE AND ITS SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS RESULTING FROM A SCAM, FRAUD, OR MISSED OR BLOCKED COMMUNICATION. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

10. Indemnification

You will indemnify and hold Drawbridge harmless from claims arising out of your use of the service, your content, or your breach of these Terms — including claims that you lacked the required consent or authority to enable screening or recording on a line.

11. Termination

You may stop using the service and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the service or its users. Sections 6–10 and 12 survive termination.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Venue for any dispute lies in the state or federal courts located in Texas. (Final dispute-resolution terms are being set by counsel.)

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms and will post the updated version with a new effective date. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
